Recent Events – BDO and a special performance featuring Wildilocks dreads!
The Perth Big Day Out was a fabulous success! Unfortunately I forgot to get the camera out when we were really busy, so there’s only a few pics of the stall, and a couple of clients added in the Loose Streaks section of the Gallery. Better than nothing though! It was a great day and excellent event to be a part of, with massive crowd and huge exposure!
I also last month had the pleasure of creating dreadlock falls for a wonderful troupe of dancers — Gypsy Trail Tribal Dance Company’s ‘Diaspora Tribe’. They had a performance at the Quarry Amphitheatre and outshone all the other dance troupes with their dreaded finery, giving them a real edge! You can see a couple of photos of the troupe and performance over here!
New Melbourne Tour added for MARCH 2004!
Due to a great deal of early interest in the Melbourne leg of the June tour, I’m very happy to announce that wildilocks will be heading to Melbourne in March also – which means that anyone having extensions done in March are also guaranteed my availability for maintenance/reinstallation appointments for June … email if you’re interested and would like to book for either the new March tour dates or the June ones in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane!
New Product: Dreadlock Snood [& Free Shipping Offer]
Thanks to the request of a recent client, I’ve experimented with the creation of a dreadlock snood – and come up with a simple and effective design. What the hell is that supposed to be, you may ask [aside from a GBA game]? Well, a snood is essentially a hair net, originally worn in medieval times, but also revived in the 1930’s and ’40’s where wartime required women to work in factories and tie their usually very curly and carefully styled hair back neatly. Im sure there’s a few of you who’ve been in a situation where you’ve needed your dreads covered up – but not had anything custom made for the job, and made do with a scarf or head wrap which probably slipped or didn’t cover your dreads very well! Ideal for both natural dreads and synth dread extensions – a dread snood keeps your dreads neatly tied back and out of the way & are also ideal for sleeping in, as dreads are kept neater and develop less fly-away hairs when covered for bed. They’re designed with alot more room in them than standard snoods, because of the much greater volume of dreads, and are made with a stretchy crotchet-headband base, and a choice of either plain netting or spiderweb lace. Available in black only for now, but if really popular other colours may be introduced as well.
As a special introductory offer, dread snoods come with FREE SHIPPING til the end of the February!
