Wildilocks has moved premises!

18th January was Wildilocks’ last day trading at the previous location of Station St Markets, Subiaco!

From the 24th January onward, Wildilocks is located at a fabulous new shop in the heart of Perth city – Shop 15, Bon Marche Arcade, 80 Barrack St, Perth! [Between Hay & Murray Streets] New phone number is also in effect, you can call the shop on +61 [08] 9221 0249!

We now have longer opening hours but will be closed on Sunday & Public Holidays except for half or full-day appointments made in advance. Good news is the new location is even easier to get to, more central, and much more swanky! We can also accommodate appointments on any day of the week, and during the evenings, which wasn’t possible before at the markets.

Upcoming Events

Biggest event ever for Wildilocks is on this weekend – it’s been on the calendar for a couple of weeks if you’ve had a peek – The Perth Big Day Out! For those not in Oz, this is the biggest touring one day music event in the country, and always has a huge line up of big name acts from a variety of music genres. This year it’s on Sunday February 1st for Perth, so if you’re going, say hi to us down there. I’ll be posting a bunch of pics from the event afterwards too.

2004 Tour

This years’ upcoming June tour of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne is starting to receive some interest, especially in Melbourne. Though still several months away, it may book out some time in advance so if you’re thinking of getting Wildilocks up close & personal …email if you’re interested and would like to book!

No time for anything else now that I can think of right now, so I’m off to do more prep for this weekend which is going to be huge! Bye for now!

That’s right: 1 year ago [on December 6th, to be precise] Wildilocks opened officially in Perth, Australia – and in celebration, everyone gets a treat!

For this trading weekend [Friday 5th – Sunday 7th December] ANY online or in person shop purchase made will receive one free pack of Wildilocks candy — in your choice of 3 flavours – blueberry, passionfruit or sugarfree orange. Not only that, but from Friday 5th December right til the end of the year, all order values of $USD 25.00 [and multiples thereof] will receive a pack free as well! So if your order is worth [for example] $USD 80.00, you’ll get 3 free packs of candy. YUM!

All you need to do to specify which flavour[s] you want is make a note on the special instructions section when you place your online order through PayPal! Easy!

These are custom made for Wildilocks by local company Lolly, and cannot be got anywhere else! If there is overstock, or people request it, I’ll add candy as a regular item to the inventory though! They are really yummy, so I won’t be surprised if it happens!

New Galleries – New services!

Yes there is a whole new gallery for both permanent dreads [and dread maintenance] and plastic – new services and products which Wildilocks is now offering. They’re small so far but I am sure will be growing in the very near future!

Plastic Falls Finally Available!

I’ve been promising it for months but finally buckled down and the Plastic Falls page is finally up, and falls are now available! There will be another for plastic & foam extensions too but I need a few more examples before putting that up – check out the plastic gallery in the meantime though!

New Products!

Wildilocks has also added a couple of other new products – most notably the new Australian Made Dread Maintenance Products from SOHO – SOHO Dread Wax,SOHO Dread Shampoo, and New Kitty Ear fabrics! Look out for more in the New Year.

Dates for Holiday Shipping

Cut-off times for expected Xmas/New Year Holiday shipping to the USA/UK/other International is 8th December for Custom Dreads, and 13th December for accessories and all other falls.

Within Australia, cut-off time for will be 15th December for Custom Dreads, and 20th December for accessories and all other falls.

Haughty Couture Fashion Parade

30th August 2003 — Sin Nightclub saw some amazing fashion at this event, which you can see a whole host images of in the gallery here. Sin was packed to the gills and there was some media attention as well, though I have yet to get around to scanning. Soon!

Completed Tour

Melbourne and Sydney tour earlier this month went wonderfully well! Only have a couple of pics of one of my clients from Melbourne though – camera unfortunately got forgotten otherwise!

Designedge Trade Show for Perth Fashion Week

September 23-25th, 2003 @ Burswood Resort Grand Ballroom. With very little notice and preparations made during time on tour, Wildilocks sponsored & presented a small display as part of the Urban Stage stand @ this three day trade show as part of Perth Fashion Week. A few photos are available here!

New Gallery!

Yes there is a whole new gallery for full and part full head loose extensions, which can be found over here. Wildilocks has been very busy doing alot of full head loose extensions in both human and synthetic hair and so now has a dedicated section just for this specialisation!

Upcoming Events & Products

11th October 2003 – OUTBREED III – Wildilocks has been asked once again to participate in the fashion show for Outbreed, and has some cunning designs in mind to surprise on the night. If you’re in Perth, don’t miss this event!

Wildilocks is doing loose extensions for two weddings in the month of October – exciting indeed! Look forward to these clients being added to the gallery, as these will be very special.

Also in the next few weeks, the Plastic section will definitely be added to the site, as there have been so many enquiries from the Haughty Couture Fashion Parade and the plastic pieces featured in that event. Also, a couple of new accessory lines are in development and shall be released publicly in the next site update. Keep your eyes open for special introductory prices! Also, in November, it will be Wildilocks’ one year anniversary! I have a very special promotion planned, but I won’t say any more … I’m very excited thought, it’s going to be sweet!

Outbreed II Fashion Parade

On 19th July, Wildilocks did hair for the Outbreed II fashion show. 5 models wore Wildilocks creations, the centrepiece being a foam mohawk made from two simple foam falls [the plastic section will be coming soon to the website, I promise!] Pictures are available here.

Australian Idol

Anyone in Australia couldn’t help but notice the fuss over the currently screening Australian Idol – our version American Idol. If you were watching the very first program, you’ll have seen Jeanette Stevenson of Exotic Body Piercing getting a lot of attention in the Perth auditions – and very hard to miss with Neon Green Dreads! Jeanette made it right up to the last round before Sydney and was featured in the last round state audition segment for WA on the first tv program – as well as being one of only three “near miss” Perth contestants featured in the Australian national women’s magazine NW — resplendent in neon green, below:

New/Upcoming Products/Colours

Some new colours will be in stock within the next week, including Deepest Blue, Silver White and Pale Pink silky. Check the colours page for new swatches in a week or two!

New Kitty Ears fur colours are also available: Neon Green, Neon Orange, Cheetah Print [b&w][all UV reactive], plus Cheetah Print [golden].

Goth Nation #4 now in stock

This is the last issue under the current name, and features Marilyn Manson, The Cramps, Noise, Seals & Merzbow, and a whole lot more – next issue Goth Nation goes nation-wide with newsagent distribution and changes it’s name to “Fiend” — look out for it in your local newsagent within Australia in November! Upcoming Events

30th August 2003 – Sin Nightclub, [which opens tomorrow night here in Perth], will be hosting a Subversion Fashion Parade – a showcase of all the designers who work for Subversion and is themed “Wearable Art/Haughty Couture”. Wildilocks will be creating several headpieces and falls for the event, which will begin around midnight. For those interested, more details can be obtained at the Subversion website.

Upcoming Tour

That’s right: Wildilocks is on the move yet again next month! This tour includes Sydney and Melbourne.

Wow: over a month since the last News update… things have been busy!

The Melbourne trip was very busy indeed, did quite a bit of work over there! Also was asked to go on a radio show, which was a bunch of fun, as it has been years since I’ve been in a radio studio. And of course visited quite a few clubs and such. All in the name of promotion, of course!

Since returning I’ve added a bunch more colours for the new kitty ears — leopard print fur is now available, as of yesterday!

Okay, and of course the news you’ve all been waiting for who won the Opening Promotions?

Upcoming events:

Wildilocks is providing vouchers for giveaway prizes at Legacy all ages event next weekend — if you’re in Perth, be there and you might get lucky!

Also, Wildilocks is providing hair for the upcoming Outbreed II fashion show in two weeks. The theme is “looking to the future” — so expect to see a lot of plastic and foam for a very cyber feel to this show’s hair. Once that show is done, I will do my best to get the plastic pages on the site up & running as there will be a lot more to show!

Only 2 days til I’m off to Melbourne, can’t wait — and I have been busy getting ready — I have some site updates to tell you all about!

I’ve installed a fabulous new gallery program for the customer gallery – you can now see higher resolution copies of a lot of the images if you want to see each little detail — and you can add comments too! Check out the new gallery here — there are quite a few new pictures of clients, too, and I’ve placed the fashion parade albums in there too for ease of viewing.

Also Wildilocks has a brand new product: clip-in kitty ears! These are too gorgeous for words.

A final note to anyone who’s been considering putting in an order in the near future — if you do so in the next 36 hours, I’ll be able to ship your order [in-stock items/accessories] before heading interstate — and orders for dreadlocks will be begun faster if ordered before I leave. I’m anticipating something of a rush at the end of the month, too because of the promotions I’m running — so if you don’t want to wait, now is the time to act!

Wow! Its mid-May, and finally the site is complete enough for me to launch it officially. Obviously it’s been unofficially up for a while now — but I’ve done major updates & shopping cart additions to nearly everything now!

There are a couple of sections, namely braids and hair wraps, still to be completed, and I haven’t even added plastic yet to the menu – but the most important stuff is all up now, shopping cart, loads of accessories – and we have Goth Nation magazine in stock, too!

To celebrate the official launch, I’m running a couple of promotions. You can win a set of yaki base falls just by subscribing to the newly created mailing list, or win a deluxe set of dread falls by making any purchase over $USD20 — both before the 30th June 2003.

Also we have images now available from the most recent fashion show. It went smoothly as I’ve ever seen a fashion show run, the models were incredibly professional, and the attendees were most appreciative of the show.
